Conference information: As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Council for European Studies, we think in different ways around Europe: place, idea, people, empire, utopia, dystopia and its outlook for 2020. The moment for this celebration marks a number of recent and ongoing changes to the boundaries of citizenship. European, fragile institutional arrangements of the European social model, postcolonial European analysis of the world, population dynamics that define who is European, Europe's changing relationships with other regions and groups of society in the world, including the world of the South, and the composition of global domination.
